THE COMPANY TUNE UP IN ACTION

The process falls into four stages and the end result is an efficient, effective process. It includes monitoring and pre-determined follow-up procedures and delivers practical results not typically derived from traditional consulting methods.

1. Intake

This is a one-hour meeting to enable Edge to gain an overview of the company, identify information needed and evaluate the complexity of the situation. Edge then agrees a timetable for fieldwork and customizes requests for information. Most of this data can be obtained from various sources within the organization without burdening senior management. The time spent by your team is limited to essentials, ensuring that the Company Tune Up does not interfere with the effective running of the company.

2. Fieldwork

This involves an external, objective analysis by seasoned executives and identifies the issues facing the company. In any business, there are four key areas that account for over 80% of its most pressing issues.

Organization and Financial Overview
Revenue Generation
Strategic and Operational Improvements
Cost Reduction Initiatives

By focusing exclusively on these areas and by-passing the trivia that can otherwise bog down analysis, fieldwork can usually be accomplished in four days spread over a month in full or half-day units.

3. Report and Agreement

Analysis and initial report generation takes a further two weeks, and an action-oriented report is produced. It is delivered in a format designed to get agreement from the management team as to actions to be taken and set up accountability for their implementation. It is presented for discussion and review by the company’s senior management at a special meeting, and during the meeting, an action plan is adopted, incorporating individual commitments to action items and their specific completion dates.

4. Implementation

When the Action Plan is finalized, six monthly follow up meetings are scheduled, all attended by Edge’s President, Steve Davies. These meetings are designed to monitor progress against the Plan’s parameters and ensure accountability. Through this mechanism, Edge effectively holds management’s feet to the fire, ensuring effective implementation and the meeting of critical deadlines.

With these steps, the Company Tune Up delivers practical results not always found in more traditional consulting engagements.
