ADVISORY EDGE

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Edge Initiatives is driven by Steve Davies, the founder and CEO of US Computer Group, one of only a handful of companies ever to place on the Inc 500 for five consecutive years, and a member of the Inc magazine Hall of Fame. In addition to these credentials, Steve is a former commercial banker, president of a public company and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Because he has been a successful CEO, Steve Davies understands the challenges inherent in running a company and has used his unparalleled experience in this area to develop the Advisory Edge specifically for small to medium sized businesses. It is an affordable streamlined process that provides a unique combination of ad hoc support and resolution of issues… and with the least possible drain on senior management time.

First, there are two half-day orientation sessions to enable Edge to understand the company’s existing goals, strategy, positioning, products, organization and challenges. The first of these is with the CEO, and the second to meet the management team.

Edge then meets again with the CEO to agree on potential Company Projects in areas where corrective action is required and produces an action-oriented report for actions that need to be taken in the first quarter of the program.

The plan is presented for discussion and review by the company’s senior management, and during the meeting, an action plan is adopted, incorporating individual commitments to action items and their specific completion dates.

Edge then visits the company for two half days a month to meet with the CEO, chair a meeting of key managers to quarterback the implementation of actions that have been agreed and identify new areas for improvement.

In addition to this formal process, For as long as the Advisory Edge is in existence, the CEO has telephone access to Edge as a sounding board for complex decisions that need to be made. See CEO Support for a sample of some of the ways that Edge has helped companies recently.

The result is a streamlined, cost-efficient and highly effective process that utilizes the benefits that an impartial outsider can bring in identifying problems, devising solutions, quarterbacking implementation…and using a close knowledge of your business to become an advisory resource in the decision-making process.
