THE
COMPLETE RESOURCE FOR CEOs
Running a company
is quite different from any other business experience, and there is nobody
else with quite the same perspective as the CEO. Decisions that will have a profound
impact on the business must be made, but there is seldom anybody that can discuss
them at the CEOs level.
People within the company tend not to see the big picture and often seem
reluctant to disagree on strategic topics. Outsiders simply do not have
enough knowledge about the business to be truly valuable - and unless
they have been a CEO, they will probably fail to appreciate the challenges the CEO faces.
Few people understand this problem better than Steve Davies, CEO of Edge
Initiatives. As the founder and CEO of a five-time Inc 500 company,
president of a successful public company and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur
of the Year, he has lived life at the helm of several fast-moving
companies. As a result, he has developed a very real understanding of
the bearing that infrastructure, organization, resources and personalities
have on issues
and of the pressures on the CEOs time.
This experience has been brought to bear in developing the Advisory
Edge, a retainer-based program that makes the diverse experience of
the Edge Team available to the CEO as needed
to discuss any business problem by telephone at any time. It is an advisory
resource that not only delivers ad hoc CEO
Support in a practical, affordable manner but also includes monthly
on-site half-day Company Project
meetings to identify issues and drive their resolution.
The Advisory Edge starts with two half-day sessions on-site to
allow Edge to develop a broad understanding of the company and
its resources and agree upon those areas where improvement can be made.
Thereafter, the program focuses where the CEO feels help is required,
with Edge helping to drive Company Projects by devising action
plans and quarterbacking agreed implementation.
The Advisory Edge comes at very little risk to the company because
they can cancel without notice at any time if they are dissatisfied.
