Most recently, Steve was president of Sandata (NASDAQ: SAND) the second largest software development company on Long Island (after Computer Associates). A financial background has been combined with a proven track record in leading companies through explosive growth, and Steve brings a unique perspective. Major skills are in strategic marketing and positioning, creating sales strategies, building successful sales teams, finding and implementing mergers and acquisitions and implementing financial planning and control. Because of a keen first hand understanding of both the banking mentality and the difficulties of operating a business, he is especially effective in negotiations with banks. Steve holds a Masters Degree in English from Oxford University and is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers in London, England. He was named a regional winner in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year program in 1995.
Greenberg is a Certified Facilitator for The Alternative Board®. TAB is a selective, by invitation only, membership organization made up of Presidents, CEOs and owners who meet in small structured boards on a monthly basis to improve the profitability of their companies. He is also a Certified Coach in Strategic Business Leadership™ As President and COO, Greenberg was instrumental in the growth and profitability of Charles Greenberg & Sons, Inc. a 900-employee manufacturer of children’s shirts. While at Greenberg, he commercialized his in-house systems development team by co-founding Computer Generated Solutions, a professional services firm in the computer software field. He was Chairman and CEO of CGS in its early growth years, subsequently selling his interest in that firm. He received an AB from Princeton and an MBA from Columbia School of Business. He has been a board member of the American Apparel Manufacturers Association and the Metro NY Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization, and has served as a commercial arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association.
Richard Strautman initially worked for two large consumer products companies and held a variety of management positions in technology, finance and marketing. Subsequently he moved into the computer technology industry and helped lead several companies through strong periods of growth. During this period, he served in such roles as Executive Vice-President, VP of Worldwide Manufacturing, Chief Financial Officer, Division General Manager, and Sales and Marketing Vice-President. Combining these diverse experiences, Mr. Strautman moved into consulting in 1996 and has helped start-up companies, small businesses, medium sized businesses and world-wide conglomerates identify and achieve their objectives. He served four years as a Partner/Managing Director for KPMG Consulting, recently renamed Bearing Point.
He is also President of a local Chapter of BNI, an officer of the trade training organization MetroSET, a member of the International Coaching Federation, founding member of Coachville, and of the Graduate School of Coaching. He brings a rich diversity of experience to his clientele in a number of very different disciplines and techniques and his career highlights include:
He has started seven different businesses including a high-tech computer training center in Manhattan, an award-winning advertising agency, and a deep-sea diving company. He currently operates Powhattan Consulting Corp, a small-business coaching service, and the NYC Midtown Coaching Center, a support system for local coaches. |
